IndiGo Relaunches Direct Flights Between Delhi and china's Guangzhou from November 10, 2025

New Delhi: IndiGo has announced that the daily direct flight service will recommence on November 10, 2025, operating between Delhi and Guangzhou, China. The aircraft used for this will be the Airbus A320, and this initiative will likely foster civil air connectivity slumbered for a long due to the COVID-19 pandemic and a downtrodden bilateral atmosphere brought mainly by the Doklam standoff.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had earlier this month given confirmation regarding the resumption of direct flights between India and China, thereby heralding a major phase for the India-China civil aviation relations. The Chinese Embassy spokesperson reaffirmed China's interest in restoring flight connectivity between these two countries.

Improving India-China Connectivity
Said Malhotra, Vinay, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo:
"Strengthening connectivity to China by adding another daily flight on the Delhi-Guangzhou route is something we are happy to do, beside the recently resumed route from Kolkata.
Operating the route between two most populous nations of the world Idaer tremendous potential for cultural exchanges, mutually beneficial cooperation in economics, and opportunities for investment. Trade, tourism, education, and more will all be supported by IndiGo's network via Guangzhou linking India with the rest of the world."
Priorly, IndiGo had announced daily flights between Kolkata and Guangzhou to start from October 26, 2025, and hence continuing onward the airline's effort at the expansion of India-China air connectivity.
IndiGo's Plans in Southeast Asia
Having covered the Guangzhou gateway, IndiGo shall also commence daily direct flights connecting Delhi and Hanoi from 20 December 2025, again using Airbus A320 aircraft. The airline currently maintains 14 weekly frequencies linking Kolkata to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Governmental point of view
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that,
"Commercial flights between India and China have been resumed; this in itself stands testimony of the growing trend towards normalization of bilateral relations. This is good for trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries."
Why it matters
Direct flights between India and China were suspended in 2020 due to both the pandemic and the accompanying geopolitical tensions. The resumption of the Delhi-Guangzhou route of Indigo denotes restarting of connectivity, thereby benefiting-
Trade and investment-
Tourism-
Education- and cultural exchanges.
On the whole, Indigo has supported civil aviation among India-China relations, hence reaffirming its commitment in linking India to the rest of the world.
